Here’s EVERYTHING You Need To Know about Our After School Drama Programs!

Red Roar Creative aims to create a fun and safe environment in which primary school students of all ages feel free to explore their creativity! It’s about celebrating imaginations as we build their confidence for self-expression & performance. It’s also very much about building Team Work and Problem Solving skills, challenging students to work in small groups under tight deadlines to create small scene and scripted work. Fun, fast-paced and full of creativity, we currently run After School Drama Programs at:

NEWTOWN PUBLIC SCHOOL on Tuesdays 3-5pm for K-2 & Wednesdays 3-5pm for Year 3-6.

ERSKINEVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOL on Thursdays 3-5pm for all ages.

ALEXANDRIA PARK COMMUNITY SCHOOL on Mondays 3-5pm for all ages.

Every Term 1 is about Fast Paced Team Impro Fun, with K-2’s jumping into a series of Teacher-led Group Storytelling Actvities. For Stages 2 & 3, it’s Theatresports / Whose Line Is It Anyway style Team Impro Games, all culminating in fun but informal end of term showings to you! In Term 2, our K-2’s build on the discoveries of Term 1 and either create their own mini-play or adapt a well-known picture book for performance to you, while our Stages 2 & 3 Groups switch to ‘Making A Scene’, devising and rehearsing in small groups, 2-minute scenes in the style of movie trailers!

Every Term 3, our K-2’s bravely take on the scripted scenes developed in the previous term by their schools’ Year 3-4 peers, and our Stage 2 & 3’s tackle solo performance as ‘Heroes & Villains’, creating, writing and rehearsing their own mini-monologues! And finally, in Term 4, all groups take on the ultimate creative challenge – The Play! One Group, One Story (sometimes interspersed with cheeky ad breaks or trailers for other productions), this is the culmination of the year’s work, and the ultimate expression of the value we hold dearest – TEAMWORK!

Alex Park CS – $210 per term per student (as 1st Mondays of most Terms are missed!)

All Students need an extra snack packed on Drama Days for our 3pm sign-in time, and/or our 4.05pm break. Pick Up is at 5pm sharp. Parents MUST inform us if they are signed in to the school’s OOSH for Care after 5pm so that we make sure they head in the right direction when our session ends.
